Hey, so it turns out time goes fast and it is easier to skip the blogging than I would have thought. Contrary to what you might think from my severe lack of posts here I have been fairly busy. Started my first masters class, hiked Timp, built my first computer, played in a doubles volleyball tournament with my roomate and a host of other activities, here are a few pictures.

So this weekend was definitely a bit more relaxing than the last. I did not do a lot, which was kind of nice. Ashley and I did go to the strawberry days festival in pleasant grove to get some strawberries and cream, it was delicious. Since I have started using this blog as a bit of a journal I try and take at least one picture of most of my activities so I can share with family and friends, this lead to me learning for the first time, even though I have known her for over a year, that Ashley does not want me taking her picture, there is one here of her trying to get away. All I wanted was a picture of someone enjoying the wonderful strawberry goodness. Oh well.

So I have learned I definitely do not have as much to blog aobut as my siblings who have children. But this week has been pretty exciting. I decided for sure to start school again. I was kind of thinking LSAT and law school but I never wanted to practice law, and everytime I sat down and studied for the LSAT it just did not feel like the right thing. So on June 30th I am going to begin a 39 credit program to earn a Masters of Arts in Teaching, with a focus on secondary education. Big jump from law school I know but my company will pay for the whole thing and teaching si something I can enjoy and feel good about. My only fear is about being affiliated with the teachers union, which is just below Kobe Bryant on the scale that measures evil, (other than war Kobe is pretty much the top.) And, today I did my first triathlon, it was a sprint, so kind of short but it was a 3 mile run, 9 mile bike ride and 500 m swim. Not as impressive as what Gordon, Joseph and Laura did this weekend but I was happy with it. Other than my right calf cramping during the second mile long hill on the bike ride it went ok. Sadly, I had no idea there was a mile long hill and the first time a saw it about 15 seconds into the race i almost quit. Then I found out that not only did I have to jog up that hill once but I had to ride up it two times. That hill and I will never be friends. I finished with the incredibly slow time of 1 hour and forty minutes, a girl from my office was running tihs as her second triathlon and finished in 1 hour 23 minutes, I was slow. But my only goal was to finish and I did, so I am pretty stoked about it. I figure it will be easy to cut out at least ten or 15 minutes next time just by not getting off my bike after 6 miles and sitting on the grass to stretch my knotted calf. Anyway, since I was there pretty much by myself I do not really have any pictures but I do have one of my new bike and transition area, and the shadow is mine so it is almost like I was in the picture.

Blanche Lake Trail
So I decided to add a few more pictures from the kayaking trip I went on a couple of weeks ago, it was amazing.
This is our campsite the last night we were on the river, turned out to be right after the last rapid and only about 4 miles form the takeout.
Somehting aobut lonely trees calls to me, kind of like little flowers, I simply have to take a picture.
This was the view from our first night on the river, spectacular!

So this is my first blog post. I decided in order to help my family keep up on the things going on in my life I would create a blog, since most of them have and I look at theirs multiple times a week.
Since I am single and do not have kids running around the house doing crazy things I doubt I will update my blog as often as other family members should, I love seeing nieces and nephews so you guys keep posting!, but I will try and keep family and friends updated with what I am doing.
So just a few hours ago Steve, Eric (two of my best friends that I was fortunate to grow up with), and I just got home from an awesome three day kayaking trip. I am exhausted but it was well worth whatever repercussions I suffer over the next day or two. I will put a couple of pictures here and will try and post an album on facebook where I can add fifty or so good ones. The rip was amazing and now I need to go shower and clean up and try and get my stuff in order for the coming week.
